History

Poltava confectionery factory is one of the most outstanding enterprises of picturesque Poltava. In the beginning of the XX century the town near the Vorskla was one of the centers of confectionery industry of Levoberezhnaya Ukraine. There was considerable quantity of private artels-confectionery factories in Poltava which delivered sweets far outside the Poltava province.


After October revolution these minifactories have been nationalized and by the decision of Provincial Council of  national economy, united in one confectionery enterprise which was called «State confectionery factory».

 

The advantegous geographical placement and closeness to a raw-material base made fast development of manufacture.


In 1929 Poltava trust "Poltgoskondfabrika" has been created. 50 persons worked at the enterprise at that time.

During the Great Patriotic War all the equipment was evacuated in Prokofievsk of Altai territory and worked for war needs. Unfortunately, all the buildings in Poltava were destroyed. Revival of enterprise began in 1944.

From 60-s begins the production modernization, that gave the possibility to enlarge the assortment. Waffle and marmalade workshops were brought into operation. Developing new productive capacities by degrees, the enterprise increased the output up to 8 thousand tons per annum. The quantity of workers has run up to 560 persons.

The new stage of the enterprise development began in 80-s. A new five-storied building is under construction, the factory is supplied with modern equipment, workshops renovation takes place. Stream lines favour the automation of productive processes. Thanks to these transformations the assortment of production was considerably enlarged comparatively in short terms. Accordingly the output increased almost twice.

  Public Joint-stock company "Poltavakonditer" was created after declaration of independence of Ukraine on the basis of already privatized enterprise.


The crisis phenomena in economy forced labour collective constantly to search for new ways of the further development. The zephyr workshop by productivity over 2 tons per day was put into operation; the new workshop of fancy products manufacture was opened. In 1999 the German line for manufacture of tablet chocolate and sweets of "Allsorts" type was put into operation.

  Nowadays history of PJSC “Poltavakonditer” started in 2000, when the cooperation with the investment fund “Sigma Blayzer” was begun. Thanks to the considerable investments of foreign investor, a huge project of a new construction PJSC “Poltavakonditer” was carried out. The construction was built in short terms and corresponds to the last world standards.
A variety of co-developing of factory engineers and world famous companies followed after this. In particular, Italian company "Laser" has installed new lines for sugar biscuits and biscuits with fruit fillings production, and also the line fancy biscuits production and snack products.

The new chocolate shop is equipped with two lines of Swiss concern "Buller" for manufacturing of chocolate masses and tablet chocolate. Lines are completely automated. Milk and dark chocolate which is produced under the trade mark «Dominic», is highly competitive with the quality characteristics of the best European samples.

  Products of the Poltava confectioners can be found not only on counters of Ukraine. Russia, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan have adequately estimated the Poltava confectionaries. Stable demand for products stimulates staff of PJSC "Poltavakonditer" constantly to increase volumes of manufacture and to enlarge assortment, considering preferences of consumers.

During 80 years of its existence the factory became a powerful, competitive, up-to-date enterprise that provides 2000 people with working places. Highly productive technological lines, qualified staff, efficient control of the good’s quality combined with rich experience and ancient traditions are the guarantee of delicious and qualified production that is invariable in great demand.
